Have you met Bob Baker and his office companion, Cinnamon? For 36 years, Bob’s Volvo journey has consisted of many unforgettable stories, friendships, and, of course, Volvos!

An expert in all things Volvo, Bob’s genuine attentiveness and kindness are just a few of the qualities that have distinguished him as a well-trusted sales consultant at Lehman Volvo Cars of York. Perhaps you’ve also seen the giant plush dog sitting next to his office desk when you walk into the showroom. Careful— you might think it's real at first, but maybe that’s just what Bob wants you to believe!

Jokes aside, the truth is that it was a demo dog, used to display Volvo dog seatbelts.  Catching everyone’s eye, Cinnamon was kept as a conversation piece once no longer in use.

Despite his many years of experience, Bob wasn’t always a Volvo sales consultant. Instead, he worked at a radio and TV repair shop, then an office furniture store for a combined 13 years. It wasn’t until January 2, 1989, that he joined the sales team at York Volvo. Soon, he understood the vehicles inside and out, quickly falling in love with them at the same time.  When asked, Bob says his favorite Volvo is the 2015.5 XC70, which he currently owns.

One of his most memorable Volvo moments was witnessing a Volvo 740 crash test. Even at 50 mph, the interior did not look damaged as the front took most of the impact. For him, this became one of many testaments to the safety of a Volvo.

During his free time, Bob enjoys spending time in his backyard where he can feed and watch his deer friends. He’s also a part of the Optimist Club and a dedicated Steelers fan!
